Trudi's new middle grade series, Secrets of a Lab Rat
(Aladdin/Simon & Schuster) is now on store shelves! Barnes
and Noble in Lynnwood, WA hosted the book launch, which
also benefited Soundview School.

At the evening event, Trudi chatted about writing, read from
her new release, and played games with young readers.
Everyone went home with something: bookmarks, bubbles,
dog toys, and even "slime," in honor of the book's hero,
Scab McNally.

The first book in the SLR series,
No Girls Allowed (Dogs
Okay)
takes readers on a wild ride as fourth-grade inventor,
Scab, schemes to get the one thing he wants more than
anything in the world - a dog! Illustrations for the series are
done by the talented Jim Paillot. Scholastic Audio is
releasing each of the
Secrets of a Lab Rat books on CD.

the Library.

Trudi led the middle grade students through
lessons and writing exercises that taught how to
find funny ideas and turn those snippets into
hilarious tales.
